Electronic Recycling

Electronic recycling commonly known as E – waste recycling has become a trend since a couple of years. People have become more and more literate and aware in order to save their surroundings and their environment; that they are now discarding or dumping all the electronic products and gadgets in a dump yard from where these discarded products are taken and dumped into the recycling factories.
E-waste is a popular name for electronic products which have expired or are at the end of their life. Computers, televisions, stereos, fax machines are some of the common electronic products which can be recycled. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled. These are the discarded electronics which are recycled and re used into new products.
Electronic scraps such as a television sets, audio/video players, DVD players, refrigerators, mobile phones, etc contains potentially harmful components such as lead, iron and various hazardous flammable components which are rarely known to people or are hardly known to anybody. Such items should never be thrown out with the household rubbish because they contain toxic substances, and are effectively hazardous. These components are dumped when their life ends. These are then recycled by the factories which are specially opened for recycling products only. These e wastes later on after being refurbished, takes new face and come in the market as new commodities.
Why is electronic waste recycled?
Recycling of e waste involves significant risk to workers and communities in many countries. Great care must be taken to avoid unsafe exposure in recycling operations and leaking of materials such as heavy metals from landfills and ashes. This e-waste recycling process is highly labor intensive and goes through several steps. Though the steps followed to refurbish these e wastes are highly extensive steps but are mandatory to re cycled in order to save our environment.
Many leading electronic waste companies in many countries are collecting and recycling hundreds of items of discarded electronics every week. People are trying hard to do the correct thing with their obsolete computers and televisions, radios, VCRs, fridge, washing machines and various other electronic products or devices which can easily be recycled. Recycling of e-waste is a growing trend and has been initiated to protect human and our environment mainly due to the widespread environmental pollution and impacts of e-waste. Each and every single part of the waste is gathered and collected and moved to different ware houses for re-cycling. Most electronic waste which is collected goes through a recycling system called a WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), which not only recycles 95-98%, by weight, of all e-waste products are passed through it. Even the memory or any other data left in the hard discs or DVD’s are destroyed too so as to avoid its misuse. Electronic Recycling program and factories are now available in each and every major country, state and city. This program is initiated by big businessmen, helped and funded by the state and central government for the betterment of the nation and its people. Electronics donation and recycling is a great way to help conserve resources and natural materials. It is important to make sure you are donating or recycling electronics safely and correctly.
